Where to start with AI, without the guesswork
AI can create real value, but only when it is applied deliberately. Without a clear view of where it helps, organisations spread effort across disconnected pilots, invest ahead of readiness and struggle to show a return.
You may recognise some of these:
- It is unclear where AI could create worthwhile value
- Ideas and pilots are fragmented, with no reliable way to compare them
- There is pressure to invest before anyone knows whether data, systems, skills and governance are ready
- Previous initiatives have stalled or failed to scale

Know where AI is worth pursuing before you commit to wider investment.
The Review is a focused AI discovery engagement within our AI Strategy & Roadmapping service. It brings your opportunities, readiness and delivery constraints into one clear, prioritised view, then recommends a practical way forward, including when no immediate AI investment is justified.

What you receive
Clear, decision-ready outputs that show where to focus, what needs attention and what should happen next.
Findings report
A concise written findings report and executive summary.
Priority opportunities
Three to five opportunities most worth pursuing, prioritised for action.
Readiness assessment
A plain-English assessment across the six areas considered.
Risks & constraints
The main dependencies, constraints and risks to address.
Recommended actions
Immediate actions, next steps and which deeper service, if any, should follow.
Stakeholder presentation
A findings presentation and discussion with agreed stakeholders.
The six areas the Review considers
The Review looks at six connected areas to understand what is worth pursuing and what needs to be in place for delivery to succeed.
Business priorities
Where could AI or automation create worthwhile value?
Data readiness
Is the required data reliable, accessible and controlled?
Technology & architecture
Can current systems and integrations support delivery?
Governance & risk
What safeguards, ownership and controls are needed?
Skills & change readiness
Do people have the capacity and support to adopt change?
Delivery feasibility
What could stop this becoming a useful, lasting result?
These are connected assessment areas, not separate audits. The depth applied to each is proportionate to your organisation and the decisions being made.
How the Review works
01
Confirm scope
Agree the decision the Review needs to support, which part of the organisation it will cover, who should be involved and what information is required.
02
Discover
Run the leadership workshop to understand priorities, opportunities and current activity, and the context delivery would need to succeed in.
03
Test readiness
Use your evidence and focused follow-up conversations to examine the six areas and clarify the gaps and constraints that matter.
04
Prioritise
Compare opportunities against likely value, feasibility, confidence, dependencies and risk, rather than presenting an unmanageable list of ideas.
05
Recommend
Present the findings, immediate actions and recommended way forward, including a recommendation not to proceed where that is right.
What the Review does not include
The Review provides decision-ready findings and next steps. It does not include a full enterprise AI strategy, detailed architecture, data engineering, prototypes or implementation. Where deeper work is justified, it is scoped and agreed separately.
Pricing and scope
From £2,500 + VAT. The final price reflects your organisation’s size, the number of stakeholders, locations, technical complexity, the breadth of opportunities and any additional on-site work. Scope, price and any travel are agreed before work begins.
A maximum credit of £1,250, excluding VAT, can be applied against your first qualifying follow-on Mavents engagement. The eligibility and timing are explained in the FAQs below.
From Review to strategy and delivery
AI Strategy & Roadmapping is the wider service. The Review provides a focused starting point when clarity is needed; it does not replace the strategy, operating approach, investment case and delivery roadmap that may follow.
If your priorities are already established, you can begin directly with the service that fits without starting from the Review.
What the wider service can include
- An agreed set of AI and automation priorities
- A practical investment case and decision framework
- The operating, governance, data and technology changes required
- A phased roadmap with ownership, dependencies and next steps
Where the work goes next
The work can then continue through the specialist service that addresses the priority or constraint identified.
AI Governance & Risk
Practical guardrails, responsibilities and controls for safe, accountable adoption.
Data Foundations for AI
Improve the availability, quality, ownership and usability of the data behind your priorities.
AI-Ready Enterprise Architecture
Make sure systems, platforms and integrations can support scalable delivery.
AI-Powered Automation
Design and implement focused improvements to workflows using appropriate tools and data.
GenAI Skills for Business Teams
Build the confidence and practical capability needed where skills are the immediate constraint.

Frequently asked questions
Common questions about AI Strategy & Roadmapping and the AI Opportunity & Readiness Review.
1. What does AI Strategy & Roadmapping include?
It turns agreed priorities into a practical strategy, investment case and phased delivery roadmap. Depending on your needs, it can address governance, data, architecture, operating responsibilities, skills, dependencies and the sequence of work required.
2. What is the AI Opportunity & Readiness Review?
A focused AI discovery engagement within our AI Strategy & Roadmapping service. It brings your opportunities, readiness and delivery constraints into one prioritised view and recommends a practical way forward.
3. How long does the Review take, and how is it delivered?
Typically two to three weeks from the initial workshop, subject to stakeholder availability and timely access to agreed information. Delivery is hybrid: we normally begin face to face where practical, then work remotely, with further on-site time where it adds value. UK locations are available by arrangement.
4. How much does the Review cost?
From £2,500 + VAT. The final price depends on the size and complexity of your organisation, the number of stakeholders, the breadth of opportunities and any additional on-site work. Scope and price are agreed before work begins.
5. Do we have to start with the Review?
No. If your direction is already clear, you can move directly into strategy and roadmapping, governance, data, architecture, automation or training.
6. What do we receive, and what is not included?
You receive a concise findings report and executive summary, a prioritised shortlist of opportunities, a plain-English readiness assessment, the main risks and constraints, recommended actions and a findings presentation. The Review does not include a full enterprise AI strategy, detailed architecture, data engineering, prototypes or implementation; these are scoped separately where justified.
7. What if AI is not the right investment yet?
We will say so. The Review can recommend addressing prerequisites internally or doing no immediate work just as readily as it can recommend a deeper engagement.
8. How does the follow-on credit work?
A maximum credit of £1,250, excluding VAT, can be applied against your first qualifying follow-on Mavents engagement worth at least £5,000 + VAT and commissioned within 90 days of the findings presentation. It is applied once, has no cash alternative and excludes third-party costs and expenses.
